What is La Ecoloca?

Hello, I am Viviana, La Ecoloca. I am an ecologist and I love trees. Also, I have always been a bit different, or loca in Spanish. Therefore, I am La Ecoloca. I believe that nature, yoga and community are essential components in the path towards a better quality of life.

And that is La Ecoloca, a place where yoga and nature meet.

I am a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher (200 hours, Yoga Alliance Certificate, 2023). The first time that I practiced yoga was back in 2005. I was completely fascinated by it and, since then, I have practiced different yoga styles. In 2009 I started taking more advanced courses and workshops about yoga alignment, meditation and yoga philosophy. In 2011, I left my country, Colombia, and I moved to Europe.

In 2017, I began a challenging and long journey by having pain in my shoulders, neck and back. In 2018 I had a rotator cuff surgery in my right shoulder. In 2021 I was diagnosed with chronic pain. Since then, I have been looking for diverse ways to improve my quality of life and improve my overall health. And between all of that, I got my PhD in 2019, studying mangroves, one of my favorite trees.

In 2023, I completed my yoga teacher training. I also decided to go a bit different from the normal academic path and I created La Ecoloca with the purpose to bring more yoga and more nature to the world. I want to share with you my passion and deep love for nature and, hopefully together, improve our quality of life.
